Two San Antonio Drivers Killed in Accident on Sunday Night

Details about the Fatal Wrong-Way Accident

KSAT 12 News San Antonio is reporting that the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the two drivers who were fatally injured in a wrong-way accident in San Antonio that happened on the Northeast Side of San Antonio on Sunday night.

The drivers have been identified as 54-year-old Stephen Long and 35-year-old Johnny Hernandez. They were killed in a head-on collision that involved a Toyota Camry and a van on the access road of Walzem Road and Interstate 35 at around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday night.

Both of the drivers were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident as a result of the impact.

According to police, Long was heading south on the northbound access road when he hit Hernandez’s vehicle in an intersection.

The three people that were in the Camry at the time of the accident, including a woman and two children, suffered unknown injuries and were transported to University Hospital. All of the passengers in the Camry are expected to make a full recovery.

Police and investigators are currently conducting a full investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
