WMU Student still in Critical Condition after Accident

A Western Michigan University student is still in critical condition after being hit by a car on Saturday morning.

Details about the Accident Involving the College Student

Michigan Live News is reporting that the student, 21-year-old Amanda Zohoury, was identified by authorities as the student that was injured in the accident just before 1 a.m. Saturday on the 2600 block of West Michigan Avenue.

Witnesses told police that the woman was crossing the street when she was hit by a Chevrolet Impala that was heading west. The driver was not at fault in the accident and was release from the scene of the accident by the authorities.

The victim was taken to the Bronson Methodist Hospital.

Zohoury is a senior advertising and promotion major in the marketing department at WMU. Her roommate and friend – both students at WMU – were with Zohoury at the time of the accident.

Zohoury remains in critical condition at the hospital at this time.
