Euless police have arrested 29-year-old Beth Branum in connection to a fatal accident that left a young man serving in the National Guard dead.
Details of the Fatal Euless Accident
According to KXAS, 20-year-old Hurst resident Brandon Bennett was traveling to National Guard duty in Lewisville when he was struck by Branum’s vehicle at the intersection of Westpark Way and West Pipeline Road just before 5 am.
Bennett was rushed to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford, but died from his injuries shortly after.
Branum was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth where she was treated for minor injuries.
She was taken into custody following her release from the hospital and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter. She is being held on a $15,000 bond.

- 32.3 percent (1,099) of the deaths recorded for the year were attributed to drunk drivers. The agency determined that drunk driving accidents were most likely to occur between the hours of 2 am and 3 am, and that Sunday had more alcohol related accidents than any other day of the week.
- In addition to the fatalities, another 230,506 people were injured in auto accidents along Texas road ways with 87,087 people sustaining serious injury.
