Woman Arrested following Fatal Euless Crash

Euless police have arrested 29-year-old Beth Branum in connection to a fatal accident that left a young man serving in the National Guard dead.

Details of the Fatal Euless Accident

According to KXAS, 20-year-old Hurst resident Brandon Bennett was traveling to National Guard duty in Lewisville when he was struck by Branum’s vehicle at the intersection of Westpark Way and West Pipeline Road just before 5 am.

Bennett was rushed to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford, but died from his injuries shortly after.

Branum was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth where she was treated for minor injuries.

She was taken into custody following her release from the hospital and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter. She is being held on a $15,000 bond.

  • According to the Texas Department of Transportation, Texas experienced a 10.82 percent increase in the number of traffic fatalities recorded in 2012 with a reported 3,399 deaths recorded for the year.
  • 838 of the reported deaths were the result of collisions at intersections or collisions related to an intersection.
