Woman Killed in Late Night Accident in Southeast San Antonio

A woman died Saturday as a result of a midnight crash in southeast San Antonio.

Details of the Fatal Crash

Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of 24-year-old Ariza Marie Gomez.

According to KSAT, the crash started in the parking lot of a Walmart store on Pecan Valley when the pickup Gomez was riding in crashed over an island and hit a tree. The vehicle then went down and embankment and crossed E. Southcross before hitting a pole.

Investigators stated that it appeared as though Gomez was attempting to get out of the truck, but was run over. Responders transported Gomez to San Antonio Medical Center, but she was pronounced dead shortly after.

Police took the woman driving the vehicle in for DWI testing. The car accident remains under investigation.
