3 Dead Plane Crash During Emergency Landing Attempt

Jeremiah Ajayi1 week ago

Three people died as a small airplane crashed on a Texas road during landing, fire officials report.

Details of the Small Plane Crash

The plane took off from Sugar Land Airport. Afterward, it headed roughly 220 miles west to Boerne when it started experiencing engine trouble. According to the fire officials’ report, the pilot of the single-engine plane sent out an alert signifying he would attempt to land the airplane at San Antonio International Airport.

Short of the runway in the 6000 Block of W. Rhapsody Drive, the plane crashed, claiming the lives of two men and one woman aboard.

Plane Crash Could Have Been Worse

According to the Fire Chief Officer, Charles Hood, there were no commercial buildings or apartments hit as the plane could have dropped on an apartment complex, making matters much worse.

Following conduct of research and scan of the area to ensure no piece of the plane has broken, KSAT reports no injuries.

Details of the Crashed Airplane

The San Antonio Express-News reports that the plane is a Piper PA-24 Comanche, according to Flight Aware.

Currently, the incident is under investigation. Accordingly, the fire officials will coordinate with the National Transportation Safety Board alongside the Federal Aviation Administration to remove the plane and continue the conversation.
