Havertys has issued a nationwide recall for approximately 3,400 Beckley Entertainment Hutches after 12 reports of falling shelves.
The recall involves Beckley Entertainment Hutches that were sold for about $1,500 at Havertys stores nationwide and online at www.havertys.com January 2016 through February 2019.
The reason these hutches have been recalled is that the top shelf is inadequately secured and likely to fall, posing an injury hazard to consumers.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), two minor injuries and twelve incidents of falling shelves have been reported.
The CPSC recommends Beckley hutch owners to contact Havertys and request that additional screws and shelf support pins be delivered for the costumer to install or that a technician be scheduled to make a free repair.
Havertys is available for contact from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST Monday through Saturday on their website www.havertys.com or through their toll-free number at 888-428-3789.
