Deputies report the man crashed his white sedan into a black SUV, on Blanco Road and Slumber Pass. The SUV was carrying three women, a teenager, and a 5-year-old child, all of whom are expected to recover.
Two women, however, suffered critical injuries in the crash and had been transported via AirLife to University Hospital.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner has identified the man as 21-year-old Sergio Cardena Medrana. Witnesses told deputies the man had been speeding and recklessly driving shortly before the collision.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating whether or not drugs and alcohol were in Medrana’s system at the time of the accident.
Little is known as of yet, but police are continuing to pursue an investigation.
