Britax Recalls 207,000 Infant Car Seats for Choking Hazard

Britax Child Safety has issued a recall for more than 207,000 rear-facing infant car seats after determining a clip can break and pose a choking hazard to small children.

About the Britax Car Seat Recall

CNBC reports that broken parts were found in the mouths of three children. Fortunately, none of the reported instances resulted in choking injuries.

Britax was able to trace the broken parts back to a chest clip that helps to position the car seats’ harness straps. Britax says that customers can safely use the car seats without the clip should it show signs of breakage.

Britax will notify affected owners and proved a new chest clip free of charge.

Car Seats Included in the Britax Recall

The following car seats are included in the recall:

  • B-Safe 35
  • B-Safe 35 Elite
  • BOB B-Safe 35

Recalled car seats were manufactured between November 1, 2015 and May 31, 2017.
