CCPD Launches Investigation into Overnight Hit-and-Run

The Corpus Christi Police Department is searching for the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run that left a pedestrian dead Sunday night.

Authorities Questioning Multiple People

According to KRIS-TV, the fatal pedestrian accident in Corpus Christi occurred on the 5400 block of Leopard around 11 pm Sunday.

At around 6 am Monday, investigators and police arrived at the Cactus Motel on the same block of Leopard where they took three people in for questioning. A lieutenant at the scene told reporters that he believe multiple people were in the car when the fatal hit-and-run occurred.

Authorities reviewed surveillance footage from nearby business following the accident; however, it is unclear if this is what led them to the Cactus Motel.

Anyone with information on the accident is urged to contact the police or Crimestoppers at 888-TIPS.
