Chattanooga Pedestrian Killed in Rossville

A female pedestrian was hit and killed in Rossville.

Details about the fatal Pedestrian Accident

News Channel 9 is reporting that the Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating an accident that happened that involved a Chattanooga woman being hit and killed in Rossville on Monday evening.

According to police, the accident happened on Highway 2 at Hogan Road just before 9 p.m.

Investigators have further stated that a 2015 Ford Focus was being driven by 58-year-old Joel Swafford, of Flintstone was traveling east on Highway 2 and attempting to make a curve on the left of the roadway.

Investigators indicated that 29-year-old Tiffany Defriese had entered the roadway from the south, attempting to cross the street. Swafford had a green light at the time of the accident, and was driving through the intersection when he hit Defriese in the right eastbound lane of the highway. Defriese was killed at the scene of the accident.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
