Child Dead After Being Left in Daycare Bus
West Memphis Police Investigate Child’s Death
According to NBC 4, the body of 5-year-old Christpher Gardner, Jr. was discovered in a Ascent Children’s Health Services bus at around 3:30 pm Monday.
Police say Gardner was picked up from his home just before 7 am. Gardner was in a booster seat when he was found, but police are unsure why he did not or could not get out of the vehicle.
The heat index in West Memphis had reached nearly 100 degrees by the time Gardner’s body was extracted from the vehicle.
The incident remains under investigation.
