Daycare Worker Abuse Towards Young Infant
A Florida daycare worker was charged with abusing a very young baby.
About the Infant Daycare Abuse
According to WCTV, Shepherd Day Care at 208 Terrace Drive in Brandon, Florida is under investigation following charges of child abuse against worker Sarah Loria.
The 20-year-old worker was confirmed to have been in contact with a small infant who was found pale and vomiting. The parents of the child immediately rushed the baby to doctors for inspection. Hillsborough County Police reported the child was unconscious under Loria’s care.
Doctors provided assessments of the child that supported it suffered from Shaken Baby Syndrome. Hillsborough County Sheriff was publicly disgusted with the incident, calling it a despicable crime, and had Loria arrested with two counts of aggravated child assault.
Information on Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS)
SBS is a brain injury resulting from shaking a young infant and can be fatal. Symptoms include:

- Crying
- Vomiting
- Tremors
- Coma
- Bleeding
- Bruising
- Lack of interest in food
