Cinmar, LLC has recalled 4,500 world magnetic travel maps after determining that the product is a risk of magnet ingestion for children.

About the World Magnetic Travel Maps Recall

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), when two or more magnets are swallowed they are able to link together inside of the intestines and attach onto body tissues, which can cause intestinal obstructions, perforations, sepsis, and even death.

The World Magnetic Travel Maps were sold exclusively at Frontgate retail and outlet stores and online at www.frontgate.com from October 2015 to March 2016 for $225.

  • The recall involves World Magnetic Travel Maps that have a burlwood frame.
  • The world maps are 54 inches wide and 36 inches tall, and they come with 50 magnetic markers.
  • The item number for the recalled items is 145684, which is printed on the packaging.
  • Consumers should immediately stop using the magnetic markers, make sure they are out of reach of children, and dispose of them.
  • Cinmar is currently contacting consumers who purchased the products, and they will provide instructions on how to receive replacement magnets.
