large truck driving down highway

According to CBS San Francisco, a driver of a dump truck loses control, driving off the road and rolling down a hill before narrowly missing a home in San Leandro, California, on Monday morning.

House Sustains Minor Damage

Emergency crews responded to the accident at around 9:30 a.m. local time near Saratoga Street and Strang Avenue. An out-of-control dump truck drove off the road and through a chain-link fence before flipping onto its side. According to CBS San Francisco, the truck landed on a large palm tree, breaking the fall of the truck.

The truck caused minor damage to the house as it slid right next to it. A few feet difference could have put the dump truck through the heart of the house. The driver of the truck required extrication from his vehicle, but he did not sustain life-threatening injuries, reports CBS San Francisco.

No one living inside the house suffered from injuries. The significance of the damage to the house is unknown, but CBS San Francisco reports that windows at the corner of the home near the truck did not receive damage.
