The injury accident occurred at the intersection of Cottonwood Avenue and Mesa Street at around 4:45 p.m. local time. Officials say a VVTA transit bus was driving north on Cottonwood when it was hit by a semi.
The semi was traveling west on Mesa when it stopped at a stop sign and proceeded into the intersection, crashing into the side of the bus. Both vehicles sustained significant damage, but luckily there were only five passengers on board the bus at the time of the crash.
Three of the passengers were injured in the wreck, reports the Victor Valley Daily Press. Two of the injured passengers were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The third victim declined treatment. Officials say all of the injuries sustained were minor, and the two occupants in the semi were uninjured.
According to the Victor Valley Daily Press, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
