Crash between Semi and Pickup Truck Kills Two, Injures Three

According to KPRC2, two women suffered fatal injuries in an accident after the pickup truck they were in was hit by a tractor-trailer in Rosenberg, Texas, on Saturday morning.

Details of Fatal 18-wheeler Wreck

Four people in a pickup truck were traveling north on Highway 59, southwest of Houston, at the intersection of Cottonwood Drive when the accident occurred. At around 3:00 a.m., the pickup was struck by a semi head-on, causing two women in the backseat of the pickup to be ejected.

Marissa Rodriguez, 26, and Nicolette Huebotter, 24, were transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead, reports KPRC2. The driver of the pickup was taken to Oak Bend Medical Center in unknown condition. The fourth occupant in the truck was airlifted to Memorial Hermann. The condition of the truck driver is also unknown, although he was transported to Oak Bend Medical Center for treatment.

Police are currently investigating to determine what caused the fatal head-on accident.
