According to News 4 San Antonio, a woman in Portland, Oregon, lost control of her car, crashing it into a ditch after a spider dropped down from her rearview mirror.
Car was Totaled, says Deputies
The woman was driving near the intersection of NW Thompson and McDaniel Roads when she noticed a spider dangling from her rearview mirror, according to News 4 San Antonio.
At the sight of the arachnid, the woman lost control of her car, driving off the road and rolling her car over into a roadside ditch.
Fortunately, the woman walked away from the harrowing event with only a scratch on her hand. Her car, however, was completely totaled, reports News 4 San Antonio.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 32,675 people were killed in crashes in 2014. In addition,
- Approximately 2.34 million people were injured in motor vehicle traffic crashes in 2014, an increase of 1.1 percent from 2013.
- The fatality rate per 100 million vehicle miles traveled decreases 2.7 percent from 1.10 in 2013 to 1.07 in 2014.
- Fatalities in rural crashes decreased 5.8 percent from 2013 to 2014, while those in urban crashes increased by 2.4 percent.
- People killed fin roadway departure crashes decreased by 2.8 percent from 2013 to 2014.
