semi-truck speeding down highway

According to New Jersey On-Line, one man sustained an injury after a dump truck causes a three-vehicle crash inside the Lincoln Tunnel in New Jersey on Wednesday morning.

Traffic Backed up for Hours

Police say a Mendez Trucking Kenworth dump truck slammed into an SUV at around 8:28 a.m. local time. The SUV then struck the back of a sprinter van, reports New Jersey On-Line.

The 70-year-old driver of the SUV received treatment at Hoboken Medical Center for chest pains. New Jersey On-Line reports that the man was later released.

Following the collision, officials cited the Mendez Trucking dump truck for out-of-adjustment brakes, over gross vehicle registered weight, over allotted axle weight, ABS malfunction indicator lighting, and failure to correct equipment defects.

Commuters through the tunnel experienced delays of over an hour long, and traffic issues persisted throughout the morning hours.
