Eight people were injured Saturday after an 18-wheeler crashed into more than a dozen vehicles on the State Highway 249 feeder road in Harris County.
The Houston Chronicle reports that an 18-wheeler was exiting SH-249 and was merging onto the feeder road when it slammed into 13 vehicles, injuring at least eight people.
Police say the accident occurred across two lanes of the frontage road that two of the injured were transported to the hospital by Life Flight. Six other people were transported by ambulance.
The frontage road was closed from Northpointe to Spring Cypress as crews cleared the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
