Elderly Man Dead after Pickup Rolls Over

According to KTXS, an elderly man died in a single-vehicle wreck after losing control and rolling over his pickup truck on Monday in Jones County, Texas, three miles north of Abilene.

Crash Remains Under Investigation

The elderly man was identified as Guy Richard Payne, 86, of Anson, Texas.

According to KTXS, Payne was traveling northbound on US 83 (Highway 277) when he lost control of his pickup truck and veered into the median. His truck overturned on the east side of the highway’s frontage road and came to rest after it struck a telephone pole.

The accident occurred at 1:36 p.m. on Monday near the Abilene Landfill, according to KTXS.
