A pedestrian was hit and killed by a tractor trailer in Fife.

Details about the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

The News Tribune is reporting that a tractor-trailer hit and killed 64-year-old Steven Kender on Tuesday in the Fife area, according to local police.

Authorities say that they were called to the scene of the accident at about 7:35 a.m. at the 3500 block of Pacific Highway East and found the victim lying in the roadway. Kender was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

According to police, the truck driver was pulling out of a business and was checking for traffic when he began to head west and hit the man. Police believe the driver simply did not see the man crossing the driveway area.

Witness of the accident directed police officers to the truck driver, who returned to the scene after being notified of the accident. The man has been cooperative with police.
