Father and Son Killed in Two-vehicle Crash

According to the Herald Mail Media, a father and son were killed in a head-on crash in Hedgesville, West Virginia, early Thursday morning.

Details of Fatal Two-vehicle Crash

Kevin Lee Smith and his son, Kevin Lee Smith Jr., were driving southbound in the 1000 block of Hammonds Mill Road when the fatal accident happened. At around 5:18 a.m. local time, the Smiths’ vehicle collided head-on with a pickup truck after crossing over the center dividing line.

The father and son died at the scene, reports the Herald Mail Media. Calvin L. Hartley, an occupant in the other pickup truck, was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, for treatment of injuries.

Police say the crash investigation is ongoing, according to the Herald Mail Media. The elder Smith was a custodian for the Berkeley County School System, where his wife and other relatives also worked.
