Fisher-Price Recalls 63,000 Infant Motion Seats for Fire Hazard

Fisher-Price has issued a recall for 63,000 Infant Soothing Motions Seats due to a motor defect that can result in overheating and a fire hazard.

About the Fisher-Price Infant Motion Recall

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recalled products were sold at BuybuyBaby, Target, Toys R Us, Walmart, and other stores nationwide as we as online at Amazon.com and other websites from November 2015 through October 2017.

Fisher-Price has received 36 reports of the products overheating and one report of a fire.

Consumers are urged to discontinue use of the product immediately and to contact Fisher-Price for a full refund.

  • The recall involves Fisher-Price Soothing Motions Seats and Smart Connect Soothing Motions Seats with model numbers:
    • CMR35
    • CMR36
    • CMR37
    • DYH22
    • CMR39
  • The seat bounces, sways, and vibrates. The product plays 10 songs and nature sounds.
  • The Soothing Motions Seats were sold for about $160 and the Smart Connect Soothing Motions Seats were sold for about $175.
