Five-Year-Old Child Struck, Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver

According to KXAN, a five-year-old child was hit by a car in Austin, Texas, while crossing the street on Monday morning.

About the Pedestrian Accident

Five-year-old Marquese Earls was with his brother and some friends walking along Webberville Road east of Austin when the injury accident occurred. At around 7:00 a.m. in the 3500 block, the group of kids were crossing the street when Earls was struck by a vehicle, tossing him into the air. After the collision, the motorist drove away.

KXAN reports that the child was transported to the hospital after suffering a serious concussion, facial bruising, and abrasions. Fortunately, Earls was released from the hospital after just one day.

The area where the pedestrian crash occurred was a school zone, reports KXAN. Police are still searching for the suspect vehicle, which is described as a silver or grey late 90s model Honda Accord.
