According to KBTX, a man is dead following a two-vehicle crash at a problematic intersection in Grimes County, Texas, on Monday morning.

Intersection Dangerous With or Without Fog, says Residents

Police say multiple wrecks occurred in the Brazos Valley on Monday morning due to the heavy fog conditions. Unfortunately, one of the wrecks resulted in the death of a 21-year-old Plantersville resident.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 6 and Farm Road 2 south of Navasota, according to KBTX. Paul Beach, 21, attempted to cross Farm Road 2 when a pickup truck heading north on Highway 6 struck his vehicle. Beach died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the pickup truck refused medical treatment, according to KBTX.

A few minutes later, another crash occurred between a semi-truck and several other vehicles. The 18-wheeler pulled out of a convenience store into oncoming traffic, causing a chain-reaction collision involving three pickup trucks. Police say fog played a role in both the fatal crash and the later accident.

Drivers are urged to allow more room between vehicles, travel slower, and always have headlights on in foggy conditions.
