Four Hospitalized in Two-car Wreck; Driver Charged with DUI

According to The Madison County Carrier, four people are hospitalized in a wreck after being hit by a drunk driver in Lee, Florida.

Details of Injury Accident

The accident occurred at around 3:25 p.m. local time when 34-year-old Elizabeth Bush stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of CR 255 and State Route 6. A motorist in a Honda car failed to slow, crashing into Bush’s pickup truck.

The pickup truck was forced across the roadway and pushed into a roadside ditch facing north, reports The Madison County Carrier. The driver of the Honda also crashed into a ditch following the collision.

The driver of the Honda did not attempt to brake or slow before rear-ending the car, reports The Madison County Carrier. Police have charged the driver with driving under the influence. Bush and two minors inside her vehicle were hospitalized for evaluation. The driver of the Honda received treatment at Madison County Memorial Hospital as well.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and required a tow, according to The Madison County Carrier.
