Four Injured, including a 6-year-old, in a Truck-Bus Collision

Incident Report

Four people, including the truck driver and a 6-year-old girl, were injured when a Greyhound bus collided with a big rig Thursday morning. Most of the other passengers, which numbered around 50, were stranded at the scene for some time.

According to several news outlets, including ABC30 and The Fresno Bee, the four individuals, which included the truck driver and a 6-year-old girl, were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

The accident took place on Interstate 5 at Milham Avenue near Kettleman City at around 4:40 a.m. on December 29th, 2016. The bus was sent up an embankment while the semi-truck flipped and crashed onto onto its side.

Northbound traffic was disrupted for miles around, and the driver purportedly does not recall exactly what happened, although he states that he may have fallen asleep at the wheel. In addition, the truck driver claims he was not driving under the influence.
