According to WFAA, the crash occurred around 7 am on March 29 when a vehicle driven by Walker struck 87-year-old Christine Sandlin at the intersection of Stonewall Street and Poplar Street. Sandlin was transported to the hospital, but succumbed to her injuries on April 11.
According to a crash report, failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian was a contributing factor to the incident. The report also noted that the area was dark and rainy at the time of the accident, and witness reports suggest Sandlin was wearing a reflective vest.
Walker remained at the scene following the crash and admitted his involvement publicly Monday.
