LP Gas Smokers Recalled Due to Fire Hazard


Masterbuilt Manufacturing, LLC has recalled around 41,000 Masterbult and Cabela’s 7-in-1 Gas Smokers because the smoker’s gas hose can disconnect and pose a fire hazard.

About the Recall of Masterbuilt LP Gas Smokers

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Masterbuilt has received five reports of the PVC gas hose disconnecting during use. One of these reports included property damage from a fire.

No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled smoker. Consumers can contact Masterbuilt for a free replacement rubber LP gas hose.

Description of the Recalled Masterbuilt and Cabela’s Gas Smokers

  • The 7-in-1 smoker has either a Cabela’s logo or a Masterbuilt logo.
  • Smokers with a Cabela’s logo can be green or stainless steel. Smokers with a Masterbuilt logo are black.
  • The body is cylindrical and consists of three pieces: a lid, center body, and base that sits on the LP gas burner stand.
  • It has a porcelain flame disk bowl, water bowl, cooking grates, 10-quart pot and basket, thermometer, burner, and a PVC hose.
  • The gas smoker weighs about 32 lbs.
  • It was sold nationwide by Army, Air Force Exchange, Cabela’s, Gander Mountain and other stores, as well as online at Amazon.
  • It was sold from April 2011 to October 2016 and priced between $150 and $200.
