Major Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills Four

According to WKRN, four people died in a fiery crash involving several vehicles in Clarksville, Tennessee on Wednesday afternoon.

Road Shutdown During Lengthy Investigation

The driver of a pickup truck was traveling west on Ashland City Road during heavy rush hour when the accident occurred. The man approached backed-up traffic too quickly and didn’t have time to react.

WKRN reports that the pickup driver swerved into the eastbound lanes to avoid the rear-end collision and slammed head-on into an SUV. The pickup truck flipped over and caught on fire as the SUV crashed into another vehicle.

Three people inside the SUV were killed during the wreck as well as the driver of the pickup truck.

According to WKRN, police say the driver of the pickup truck was traveling at high speeds. Everyone could have survived if the driver wasn’t speeding, according to police.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing – none of the victims’ identities have been released.
