Man, 79, Dies after Motorized Scooter Struck by Vehicle in Elmira Heights

According to the Star Gazette, a 79-year-old man on a motorized scooter died after being hit by a car in Elmira Heights, New York, on Friday evening.

Details of the Fatal Pedestrian Crash

The fatal collision occurred at the intersection of East 14th Street and Horseheads Boulevard at approximately 7:00 p.m. local time. Officials say a man riding a motorized scooter was struck by a car as he attempted to cross East 14th Street.

Dale Locke, 79, was found by officials in the street with severe injuries. Locke was taken to Arnot Ogden Medical Center for treatment, but he would later die from his injuries, reports the Star Gazette.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash with assistance from the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction team, according to the Star Gazette.
