Man Dead Following I-10 Trucking Accident

A Woodlands resident was fatally injured Saturday after being involved in an 18-wheeler crash in Baytown, Texas.

Details of the Baytown Trucking Accident

According to the Houston Chronicle, the crash occurred around 10 am when a semi slammed into the back of a pickup before hitting another 18-wheeler and forcing it into a car.

The driver of the pickup, a 67-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 39, was extricated from the vehicle and airlifted to a Houston hospital.

The driver of the first semi was transported to Houston San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in stable condition. The driver of the second 18-wheeler and the driver of the car were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.

  • Texas led the nation in trucking accident fatalities with 553 trucking-related deaths reported. California followed Texas with 300 recorded deaths.
