Man Dies from Heart Attack Following Multiple-Vehicle Wreck

According to The Journal Gazette, a multiple-vehicle wreck at an intersection in Fort Wayne, Indiana, left one motorist dead on Tuesday afternoon.

Details of the Fatal Collision

The accident occurred at approximately 1:35 p.m. when a man traveling east on Coliseum Boulevard collided with several vehicles at a stop light at the intersection of Coliseum and Parnell. The man, who witnesses say drove at a high rate of speed, smashed into an SUV and struck two other cars stopped at the light.

Following the collision, the driver and his passenger fled the scene, according to The Journal Gazette. One of the drivers suffered from a heart attack at the crash scene. The man received treatment at a local hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries. The drivers of the other two vehicles involved in the wreck were uninjured.

Police shortly after responded to a report of a stolen car and discovered that the description of the perpetrator matched that of the driver from the crash. The Journal Gazette reports that police detained the driver.
