Man Gets 60 Years in Prison for Fatal Drunk Driving Crash

According to the San Antonio Express-News, Zachary Lenius, 32, was found guilty in the 2014 death of a beauty salon owner during a drunk driving wreck in San Antonio.

Former Gang Member, Previous Arrests for Drunk Driving

Police say Lenius had been drinking and was taking Xanax when the wreck occurred that claimed Joo Chung’s life. According to the San Antonio Express-News, Lenius crashed head-on into Chung’s car on O’Connor Road on the night of November 29, 2014. Chung, 56, was the owner of a beauty salon in San Antonio.

Lenius was found guilty of death by vehicle and sentenced to 60 years in prison. Lenius is eligible for parole after 30 years, reports the San Antonio Express-News.

Because Lenius was intoxicated and it was his third felony DWI, Chung’s death was treated as a murder rather than a manslaughter case. The San Antonio Express-News reports that Lenius had a blood-alcohol level of 0.11 at the time of the wreck.
