Man Injured After Falling from Houston Construction Site

About the Houston Construction Accident

On Monday morning, firefighters were forced to save a group of workers after a construction accident at the Kirby Grove office tower in the 2900 block of Richmond Avenue. Two workers were hurt and one was seriously injured.

The accident occurred when the scaffolding collapsed and fell to the ground. A 46-year-old Hispanic male fell six floors from the construction site and was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

The workers were sent home after the accident. Police say the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate the incident.

  • 4,679 workers were killed on the job in 2014 – more than 13 deaths every day.
  • Of those, 4,251 were recorded in private industry and 874 were associated with construction.

    • Caught-in/between
