Man Killed, Woman Hospitalized After Drunk Driver Crashes into House

An 18-year-old drunk driver has been arrested after crashing into a Mesquite home, killing one and injuring another.

About the Fatal Mesquite Crash

According to the NBCDFW, the fatal crash occurred around 10 pm Thursday when a 2002 Chevy Avalanche crashed into the bed room of a house in the 400 block of Seminary Ridge.

Authorities say Jose Reyes, 42, and Yesenia Vasquez, 43, were both struck by the vehicle. Reyes died from his injuries, and Vasquez remains hospitalized.

The driver of the vehicle, Steven Tutt, 18, and Shabreka Tutt, 24, were not injured in the crash. Tutt has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The incident remains under investigation.
