A 52-year-old woman is dead after being stuck and dragged by a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MTBA) bus.
911 received a call about the accident around 7 pm Tuesday night by a person who saw the woman’s body, but had not witnessed the accident.
Upon learning about the involvement of the MBTA, police began questioning the 56-year-old driver. Authorities are also reviewing surveillance footage in order to track down anyone who may have witnessed the accident.
Though police have stated that the bus driver did not appear impaired, they did administer drug and alcohol tests. It is unclear whether the bus driver was aware of hitting the woman.
No charges have been filed against the bus driver.
