Microwaves Recalled-Fire Hazard

Product Recall

Whirlpool Corporation has recalled around 15,200 microwaves due to a fire hazard.

About the Whirlpool Microwave Recall

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the microwaves have an internal arching that, during use, can ignite an internal plastic component, which poses a fire hazard.

The CPSC advises that consumers stop using the recalled microwaves immediately and unplug the unit. A consumer can then contact Whirlpool for a free replacement product.

5 incidents have been reported: one home fire, two fires that involved surrounding cabinets, one report of smoke, and one report of a burning order.
