Four Fatal Crashes over the Weekend
Police say a man driving a Lexus was traveling at high speeds when he lost control of his car. His car slammed into the motorcyclist’s Harley Davidson as it started to spin out on Interstate 15 near Russell Road.
News3LV reports that the man’s Lexus struck a retaining wall as the Harley Davidson motorcycle traveled several hundred feet down Interstate 15. The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Lexus was treated for minor injuries at the scene and was placed under arrest for DUI. Another man in the Lexus suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, according to News3LV.

- A total of 4,295 motorcyclists died in crashes in 2014.
- Motorcycle deaths accounted for 13 percent of all motor vehicle crash deaths in 2014.
- 36 percent of fatally injured motorcyclists were age 50 or older.
- Ninety-two percent of motorcyclists killed in 2014 were males.
