Motorist Charged with DUI After Evading Police, Injuring Passenger in Crash

According to the Rutland Herald, a suspected drunk driver faces several charges after evading police and causing injuries to his passenger in a crash in Manchester, Vermont.

About the Drunk Driving Crash

Adin Cornell, 23, was driving on Barnumville Road at around 11:50 p.m. local time with a male passenger. Officials attempted to pull over the driver after he was caught speeding, but Cornell eluded police.

The Rutland Herald reports that shortly after, a state police trooper found that Cornell crashed the truck off the road, rolling it onto its roof. The man in the passenger seat was injured in the crash, and he had warned Cornell that he was driving too fast.

Cornell faces charges of negligent driving while trying to elude police, and misdemeanor driving while under the influence of alcohol, grossly negligent driving, and driving at excessive speed. The Rutland Herald reports that Cornell has plead not guilty.
