Motorist Killed After Crashing into Construction Equipment on Highway

According to The Eagle, a 59-year-old man is fatally injured after crashing into construction equipment that fell from a semi-truck onto the highway in Madison County, Texas, on Friday morning.

About the Fatal Truck Accident

Marcus Harrison, 59, was traveling southbound on Interstate 45, just north of Madisonville, when the fatal accident happened. A tractor-trailer hauling large construction equipment was also traveling southbound when the driver lost control and crashed off the road. The semi-truck smashed into the center median, dumping a boom lift onto the southbound traffic lanes.

The Eagle reports that Harrison, who was traveling behind the semi, was unable to avoid the lift and crashed into it. Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene of the trucking accident. The driver of the semi, 33-year-old Dusniel Gonzalez, was uninjured in the accident.

According to The Eagle, no charges or citations have been filed against the tractor-trailer driver. The case remains under investigation.
