According to The Monitor, Priscilla Ann Jimenez-Trejo, 42, was fatally injured Thursday morning when a vehicle struck her and her son as they stood on the shoulder of Expressway 83.
Reports indicate Jimenez-Trejo was standing with her son on the shoulder of the expressway following a minor accident with two other vehicles. At around 7:25 am, a fourth vehicle veered right and struck on of the cars involved in the first accident, creating a chain-reaction that left Jimenez-Trejo dead and her 11-year-old son pinned between two vehicles.
Officials have not determined what caused the fourth vehicle to crash into the site of the previous accident, but did confirm that all occupants had exited their vehicles and were waiting on authorities
All occupants involved were transported to local hospitals; however, it is unclear if they sustained any injuries.
