Off-Duty Police Officer Killed in Motorcycle-Truck Crash

According to News 9, a 12-year police veteran died after he was hit by a truck while on his motorcycle in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on Saturday afternoon.

Details of Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Officer Eugene Orr was riding his motorcycle near East 111th Street and State Highway 51 when the fatal crash occurred. Orr was on his was home after stopping for gas when his motorcycle was struck by a truck.

According to News 9, Orr was taken to a hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, 25-year-old Corey Campbell, was attempting an illegal left turn into a McDonald’s when the collision occurred. News 9 reports that Campbell was in a turning lane intended for the traffic light, not for people to turn into McDonald’s. Campbell was uninjured in the wreck.

Officials are investigating the fatal crash and will determine if charges will be filed against Campbell. Orr was a decorated veteran for the Coweta Police Department.
