Details of Fatal Crash

Officials responded to a two-car fatal accident at around 2:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 183 near Pond Springs Road. Witnesses say a Jeep with two women and two children inside was hit by a car driving full speed from behind as they were exiting the highway.

The front seat passenger of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS crews, reports KXAN. A witness said the woman driving the Jeep had a pulse but was unresponsive and bleeding from the ears. Two kids in the backseat, who were not in seat belts or safety seats, were hospitalized with injuries from the crash.

The driver of the Jeep and Chrysler were taken to the hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, according to KXAN. The children were taken to Dell Children’s Medical Center and are expected to recover.
