One Dead, One Injured in Motorcycle-Car Collision

According to WPTV, an 18-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a car at an intersection in Boynton Beach, Florida, on Sunday.

Details of the Fatal Accident

Phillip Frossard and a 17-year-old passenger traveled up North Congress Avenue on a motorcycle at around 10:00 a.m. local time. The driver of a BMW traveling the opposite direction entered a left turn lane to head east onto Renaissance Drive.

The BMW driver says the motorcycle was an appropriate distance away when he made the left turn. According to WPTV, the motorcycle struck the rear right tire of the BMW as it nearly finished the turn.

The motorcycle occupants were thrown from the motorcycle. Frossard was transported to a local hospital but died from his injuries. The 17-year-old passenger is expected to recover, reports WPTV.

Investigators say speed may have played a role in the deadly crash.
