One Dead, Several Injured in Northeast Houston Crash

A man is dead and several others are injured as a result of a two-vehicle accident that occurred in northeast Houston Saturday night.

Details of the Fatal Houston Crash

According to KHOU, the crash occurred around 8:40 pm near the intersection of Lockwood Road and N. Sam Houston Parkway East.

Investigators say a white Chevrolet Impala was traveling northbound on Lockwood when it drifted into a cut on the shoulder of the road. The driver overcorrected and veered into oncoming traffic and into the path of an oncoming SUV.

The Impala was struck on its passenger side and overturned. One of the occupants of the Impala died at the scene and two others were transported to the hospital. A woman and a child in the SUV were also hospitalized.

All those injured were listed in stable condition except for the driver of the Impala who was listed in critical condition.

  • An additional 265,076 people were injured in car crashes in 2016 with 17,582 people sustaining incapacitating injuries.
  • A reportable crash is estimated to have occurred in Texas every 57 seconds in 2016.
