One Dead, Three Injured in Crash between Motorcycle and Pickup Truck

According to Everything Lubbock, a 52-year-old motorcyclist was killed and his passenger was injured after a collision with a pickup truck in Lubbock, Texas, on Sunday night.

Details on the Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Michael Vaughn Williams, 52, was riding his motorcycle with a female passenger southbound on North University when the fatal accident occurred. At the intersection of Clovis Highway and North University, a pickup truck attempted a left turn in front of the motorcyclist, causing him to crash into the passenger side of the truck.

Williams and his passenger, Angela Friar, were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Everything Lubbock. Williams succumbed to his injuries and died at around 11:00 p.m. on Sunday. Friar remains hospitalized with serious injuries from the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck did not sustain injuries in the collision, reports Everything Lubbock. Two of the passengers in the pickup were injured in the crash. An initial investigation indicates the pickup truck driver failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist. The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed.
