According to The Salt Lake Tribune, a motorist was fatally injured in a crash involving three vehicles on the highway in Woods Cross, Utah, on Friday morning.

About the Fatal Crash

The fatal accident occurred at around 5:40 a.m. local time on the northbound lanes of Interstate 15, a few miles north of Salt Lake City. A man crossed several lanes of traffic before crashing his car into the center barrier wall, disabling his vehicle and coming to rest in the HOV lane.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that a second vehicle tried to avoid the crashed car but ended up clipping it. The driver pulled over and put on the flashing emergency lights to signal to oncoming vehicles. However, the first crashed car was then struck by a car at full speed that did not notice the two-vehicle crash.

The driver of the first vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, reports The Salt Lake Tribune. Several other drivers and passengers in the second and third vehicles were also injured in the accident. Five ambulances were sent to the scene to help with injuries. The cause of the three-vehicle wreck remains under investigation.
