One Teen Dead, Another Injured in Dallas Crash

A Seagoville High School student was killed and another student was injured in an accident on Wednesday afternoon.

Details about the Accident Involving the High School Students

The Dallas Morning News is reporting that a 17-year-old Seagoville High School student was killed and another student was injured in a crash on Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.

Police say the accident happened at about 1 p.m. on the 600 block of Netherland Drive near State Highway 175.

The driver of a Chevrolet SUV lost control and hit a power pole and then hit another unoccupied vehicle. After hitting the pole and the vehicle, the SUV finally came to a rest on the driver’s side in the front yard of a house.

At this point, it is unclear how the driver lost control of the vehicle, but he did manage to climb out of the car and was taken to the hospital. The state of his condition is currently unavailable.

The passenger of the Chevrolet SUV died at the scene of the accident. Neither of the identities of the students were released.

Dallas ISD spokesman Andre Riley said that grief counselors will be available at the high school on Thursday.
