Pedestrian, 43, Critically Injured after Hit by Car

According to The Oregonian, a woman suffered critical injuries after being hit by a car while crossing the road in Portland, Oregon, on Wednesday afternoon.

Details of Pedestrian Accident

Jessica Michelle Moore, 43, was walking across Southeast Main Street in the 10100 block at around 5:15 p.m. local time when the accident occurred. Moore, who was in a crosswalk, was struck by a vehicle driving west on Main Street.

The Oregonian reports that Moore suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Officials say the driver of the vehicle, 56-year-old William Schuyler Gilmour, was driving at or below the speed limit at the time of the collision.

Officials say there is no evidence that Gilmour was driving while impaired at the time of the crash, reports The Oregonian. The investigation is ongoing.
